The Tech org at OVO is entering an exciting growth phase, which includes hiring across all their data squads throughout the rest of 2024 and early 2025.
The Product Manager – Zero Carbon Living will be responsible for enhancing data-driven decision making and improving the data landscape within the ZCL team, at the forefront of decarbonisation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: OVO are building a capability of Data Product Managers who are responsible for ensuring high quality data is produced from the operational platforms across Tech domains; data that is simple to find, easy to understand, and highly reliable.
The Data Product Manager – ZCL will work embedded within the Zero Carbon Living (ZCL) domain, where you'll be at the forefront of decarbonization.
You will work alongside a dedicated and highly skilled team of analysts, data scientists and data engineers, supporting them with the right prioritisation to deliver value in line with OVO's data strategy.
You will share with your ZCL domain team the common goal of powering the way the OVO supports its customers on their net zero journey!
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE : • Enhancing data-driven decision making, enabling strategy to be based on insights rather than intuition and driving innovation within the Zero Carbon Living domain • Improving the data landscape through implementation of OVO's data strategy and creation of engineering principles that enhance the governance and quality of data, ensuring it is reliable, secure, and well-maintained.
You will collaborate with the Senior ZCL Product Manager and the wider Tech stakeholders • Inspiring a data-first approach across the domain, supporting colleagues from commercial through to engineering to apply data best practices in their day to day operation • Active participation in cross-functional workstreams, representing the ZCL Data team in emerging workstreams • Developing strong cross-departmental relationships with commercial, marketing and other business functions as well as other technology teams across the business, allowing the data team to understand customer and business needs and accurately represent the needs of the data team to collaborators • Developing the existing data products and identifying opportunities for new ones, building a plan to launch them and developing their use across OVO • Effective delivery of business value through agile by using objectives and key results and agile methodologies.
Work is broken down into manageable tasks, allowing continuous delivery of value.
Progress is regularly measured against goals, ensuring alignment with business priorities and driving toward the desired product vision ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: • You nurture positive relationships with business partners, product managers and engineers, understanding their needs and representing their voices within your team • You can translate complex technical concepts into clear, simple terms for both business and technical collaborators, ensuring alignment and shared understanding across the organisation • You have proven experience as a data product manager, with the ability to commercialise and scale data science products, driving both innovation and business value • You possess a deep understanding of sophisticated analytics and data science, knowing the value and possibilities of data without needing technical expertise in every detail • You excel in agile delivery and product management, leading cross functional teams and navigating matrixed organisations to deliver business outcomes If you tick most but not all of the requirements, OVO would still love to hear from you!
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS: • A 1-year fixed-term contract , with a competitive salary range of £60-75k • On-target bonus of 15% • 34 days holiday including bank holidays • Pension matching up to 5% • Flexible working as standard • Enhanced parental leave policies • 9% cash flex fund which can be used towards a variety of benefits (pension top-up, annual leave top-up, gym memberships, healthcare cash plan, workplace ISA, etc.)
