Job summary We are looking to recruit a Product Manager as part of the Innovation and Delivery team within Digital at NWAS.
This is a new role we are introducing to provide management of our internally developed solutions.
Main duties of the job This is an important role which will ensure that the requirements of all internal development work are gathered, assessed and prioritised for the Solution Development team.
The successful candidate will work closely with the relevant product owners and key stakeholders across the trust to set priorities and accept the work generated across multiple platforms.
You will be responsible for maintaining the product roadmap, managing the product backlog and supporting the transition of developments into business as usual.
Within the role, you will work closely with the Solution Developers, Product Manager, UX Designer, Technical Architect and the wider Innovation and Delivery team to support the work of one of the UK's largest ambulance services.
About us North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West.
NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013.
This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England.
It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Person Specification Skills / competencies Essential Ability to make informed decisions based on user need, available technology and value for money.
Demonstrable detailed understanding of the variety and complexities of digital contexts and can design services to meet them, including the wider digital economy and advances in technology.
High level ability to understand and identify problems, analysing and helping to identify the appropriate solution.
You can classify and prioritise problems, document their causes and implement remedies.
Ability to translate vision into deliverable goals.
Ability to document technical tasks to support in life management Driven and self-starting.
Analysis skills.
Sensitivity and tact towards vulnerable users who you will be interacting with at times.
Qualification and knowledge Essential An appropriate recognised management qualification equivalent to a degree qualification and/or significant relevant equivalent experience.
Evidence of continuous professional development.
Working level knowledge of: o a variety of techniques for idea generation, backlog prioritisation, gathering and analysing user or stakeholder feedback, and understanding service metrics and analytics.
(working level) o advances and trends in the wider digital technology landscape and modern engineering practice.
Understands the range of technology and development choices available and is able to lead informed conversations and decisions based on user needs, product integrity and value for money.
Experience Essential Significant demonstrable experience and understanding of user-centred design, technology and data perspectives.
Experience of applying an agile methodology and mindset to all aspects of your work, using an iterative method and flexible approach, ensuring product delivery teams and other stakeholders understand and deliver against user needs and overall objectives.
Agile methodologies ( Scrum, Lean, Kanban) including how to apply an agile mindset to all aspects of their work.
Experience of utilising and driving product insight and other data to evaluate needs and priorities, whilst using your understanding of user centric design, technology and data perspectives, to ensure that products benefit from relevant innovations, remain future proof and aligned to moving technology and best practice, focused on user needs, continuous improvement, efficiencies and return on investment.
Experience of digital projects Significant experience of projects and project management techniques.
