Role description: As Product Director, you will lead the strategic direction and execution of Abbott Lyon's product vision, curating collections that align with the brand's DNA and customer desires. You'll be responsible and accountable for developing innovative, personalised, and high-performing product ranges, ensuring quality and creativity are at the core. This includes overseeing the entire product lifecycle, establish a recognisable brand handwriting, and optimising portfolio performance. This is a key role to develop Abbott Lyon into not only a personalised jewellery destination but to also play a key role in driving Abbott Lyon's growth and global expansion ambitions (mainly US) across lifestyle & accessories products as well, guiding a focused high performance team to deliver.
Responsibilities; Product Vision & Strategy · Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy aligned with Abbott Lyon's vision, customer insights, and market trends.
· Define and embed a distinct handwriting that resonates with the target customer and is instantly recognisable as Abbott Lyon.
Leadership & Team Development · Lead and inspire a talented product team of eight, fostering creativity, collaboration, and focus.
· Work closely with the CEO, Head of Product and Head of Design to align creative vision with long-term goals.
Product Development & Lifecycle Management · Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring exceptional quality and craftsmanship across Jewellery & Lifestyle Accessories.
· Build a robust capability for trend forecasting and demand planning to drive innovative product development.
Range Curation & Performance Optimisation · Regularly review and optimise collections based on sales performance and customer feedback.
· Expand product ranges with a focus on unique, stylish, and personalised pieces.
· Truly unlock the Lifestyle Accessories line at AL, delivering on both strategic plans & building a team to execute in this key area for the next stage of growth at AL.
Driving Efficiencies · Driving quality improvements across the product function, delivering continuously elevated product categories for AL customers.
· Identifying & navigating areas where efficiency can be improved, including margin improvement - utilising your exceptional commercial acumen to deliver on reducing COGS.
Cross-Functional Collaboration · Partner with marketing, operations, and commercial teams to deliver seamless product launches and campaigns.
· Support the business's international expansion, with a strategic focus on scaling in the US market.
Essential Skills: · Proven experience leading product strategy in fast-growing, founder-led brands within jewellery, accessories, or affordable luxury.
· A balance of commercial acumen and creative vision, with a track record of elevating brand equity through product curation.
· Deep understanding of the customer and the nuances of personalisation, trends, and rapid product cycles.
· Strong leadership skills, able to inspire and drive high-performing teams while maintaining collaboration and focus.
· Agile, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for detail and a customer-obsessed approach.
