My client seeks a candidate with 3+ years of product development and R&D experience. Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, with experience in Inventor preferred, they must excel in project management, communication, and strategic thinking, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills within product lifecycle management and agile methodologies.
About the Role - The product development executive will be responsible for R&D and product development processes. This includes the creation, testing, and launch of new products, and the development of existing products. Research is a key part of the role, covering many aspects such as market opportunities, political factors and material mechanical behaviors. The successful candidate will be technical, practical and with an understanding of engineering, yet possess strong project management and organisational skills, that they'll use to bring projects through the relevant R&D/product development processes
Responsibilities - Product Strategy & Planning Collaborate internally to define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities and trends. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into product specifications. Design for manufacture. Ensuring that the products a compatible with manufacturing process and helping to develop new manufacturing methods if not. Research In depth technical understanding of existing and new market opportunities. Understand the political and governmental implications on our products. Undertake internal testing prototyping. This includes CAD work. Project Management: Manage the end-to-end product development process, from ideation to launch. Collaborate to develop project timelines, allocate resources, and manage project budgets. Ensure that all product development activities are aligned with the overall business strategy. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, marketing, and sales teams to bring products through the R&D process, to market. Facilitate communication and collaboration between different departments to ensure product success. Coordinate with quality assurance team to ensure product quality and reliability. Customer Focus: Gather and analyse customer feedback to inform product development decisions. Ensure that products meet customer needs and provide a high level of user satisfaction. Monitor and analyse product performance in the market, making adjustments as needed. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in business or engineering (Masters preferred).
Mechanical engineering qualification.
Required Skills -
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in AutoCAD 2D. Experience in Inventor will be a distinct advantage 3+ years product development/R&D experience. Project management skills. Proven track record of successfully managing and launching products. Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, agile methodologies, and project management principles. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically and execute methodically, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good understanding of product lifecycle analysis. Pay range and compensation package - Up to £43k, DOE + benefits.
