Role Objective: To work closely with traders, market risk, and valuation teams to analyze, validate, and report the daily Profit and Loss (PnL), resolve issues efficiently, and maintain a strong control environment.
Key Responsibilities: PnL Reporting and Analysis: Ensure timely and accurate reporting of daily PnL and related analysis.
Reconcile finance PnL to risk-attributed PnL and front-office estimates, addressing material differences.
Ensure accurate reporting of daily PnL to the front office and reconcile between finance ledger and management reporting tools.
Provide daily commentary on PnL movements and variance investigations to front office and finance management.
Control and Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal financial controls over PnL.
Ensure PnL and balance sheet positions are correctly reported at month-end, including reconciliations and resolution of issues.
Maintain process documentation to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards in PnL reporting.
Stakeholder Communication: Distribute daily PnL reports to front office, market risk, and finance management.
Provide advice on PnL impacts of trades and the interaction of trading and finance systems.
Provide PnL data and commentary to the market risk governance team for regulatory reporting.
Compile PnL reports and associated commentary for distribution to Markets Exco.
Issue Resolution: Liaise with operations teams to resolve settlement issues.
Liaise with platform support teams to resolve any source system issues.
Ensure that PnL data and reports are submitted to the front office for approval.
Process Improvement and Support: Drive improvements in PnL controls and production processes.
Assist with ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed by the UK Finance team and Head of Product Control.
Provide ad-hoc cover and support for daily PnL production for other team members.
Performance Metrics and Reporting: Ensure weekly metrics are updated, including late or missing submissions, PnL rejections, and adjustment explanations.
Interpersonal Skills: Build and maintain professional working relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills: Degree: A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Financial Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial products and markets.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize effectively and meet daily/monthly deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience: Previous experience in a Product Control role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate level).
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex issues efficiently.
