Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Policy and Governance Specialist to join a growing team, to drive excellence in procurement processes and oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, compliance, and governance, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Ideally you will come from a regulated background - either in Public Sector or Utilities and understand the regulations around process in this sector.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with current utilities/public sector regs/industry best practices.
Lead the design and implementation of governance frameworks to ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical practices in procurement activities.
Monitor/evaluate procurement processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending best practice to enhance efficiency and cost savings.
Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on regulated procurement procedures, ensuring consistent understanding across the organization.
Collaborate with legal, finance, and compliance teams to ensure procurement practices align with regulatory requirements.
Develop and deliver training programs to promote understanding of procurement policies and governance across the organization.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with procurement standards and regulations, and prepare reports for senior management.
Analyze market trends and industry developments to ensure the organization's procurement practices remain competitive and aligned with best practices.
Serve as a subject matter expert on regulated procurement policy and governance, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications: 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on policy and governance within the public or utilities sector Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, best practices, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies and procedures in a complex organization.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite.
Professional certifications such as CIPS beneficial ADZN1_UKTJ
