Procurement Manager – Major Capital Projects Location: Northwich, Cheshire Contract: Permanent, Full-Time About Us: Tata Chemicals Europe (TCE) is a leading European producer of sodium carbonate, salt, and sodium bicarbonate.
We are investing £60 million to build a new pharmaceutical-grade sodium bicarbonate plant in Northwich, Cheshire, tripling our UK output to meet growing pharmaceutical demand.
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager – Major Capital Projects to manage procurement for this and other high-value projects from our Northwich Head Office.
The Role: As Procurement Manager, you will lead the procurement of major capital projects, driving cost and performance efficiencies while ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
You'll build strong supplier relationships, introduce new technologies, and support our business goals.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for large-scale capital projects.
Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure reliable supply chain performance.
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance.
Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and internal standards.
Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other teams to align procurement with company objectives.
Track and report on KPIs, providing updates to senior management.
Your Experience and Skills: Proven track record in procurement for high-value, high-risk projects.
Expertise in construction project procurement, tender management, and supplier processes.
Strong understanding of contracts and associated commercial risks.
Exceptional negotiation, planning, and project management skills.
Background in manufacturing or industrial sectors preferred.
