We are currently looking for a Process Engineer (Lamination & Laser Welding) , for our client, a manufacturer and developer of flexible printed circuits for the fast-growing EV market.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing assembly and thermal lamination processes through tooling expertise.
The Process Engineer (Lamination & Laser Welding) will: Conduct feasibility studies, process simulations, and risk assessments to evaluate tooling concepts and identify optimal solutions.
Develop and implement process improvement initiatives, including tooling modifications, upgrades, and automation solutions.
Lead process engineering activities focused on thermal lamination and laser welding processes, with a primary emphasis on process and tooling design, development, and optimization.
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to develop tooling requirements and specifications for assembly and thermal lamination processes.
Optimize tooling designs and processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste while ensuring product quality and reliability.
The Process Engineer (Lamination & Laser Welding) will have: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process engineering roles with a focus on assembly and thermal lamination tooling.
If no degree, then >10 years' experience required Strong expertise in process writing, tooling design, development, and optimization, particularly in automotive or manufacturing environments.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools for process modelling and analysis.
Proficient in MTM and/or MOST methodologies Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly and concisely.
Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
