Position Overview: The role of GP/Health Screener involves providing adult primary care and health screening assessments at a prestigious clinic in Central Glasgow.
This practice exclusively serves private patients, with the majority coming from corporate clients seeking comprehensive health checks.
Key Highlights: Corporate Health Screens: This role focuses on screening employees from a major corporate client.
The practice is modern, vibrant, and caters to a corporate clientele.
Team Structure: Youll be part of a supportive team that includes a dedicated Practice Manager, Lead GP, Practice Nurse, and receptionist.
There are always two GPs onsite, ensuring a balanced and collaborative work environment.
Work-Life Balance: No walk-ins, late nights, weekends, on-calls, or home visits.
Start times are flexible (8 am or 9 am), with an hour for lunch, offering you a healthy work-life balance.
Flexible Schedule: The practice offers flexibility with the option to work between 1to 4days per week.
Appointment Structure: Appointment lengths vary between 15, 30, and 60 minutes for GP appointments and up to 90 minutes for in-depth health screenings.
This results in fewer patients seen compared to NHS settings.
Responsibilities: Youll handle routine procedures such as taking bloods, smear tests, prescribing medication, antenatal checks, vaccinations, and travel advice, as well as ordering further on-site tests or supplementary therapy as needed.
Health Screening Reports: You'll write your own reports using dictation tools and a robust IT system.
While there's a learning curve, much of the reporting becomes routine and efficient.
Preventative Focus: With about 60% of appointments focused on advanced health screenings, this role is ideal for GPs passionate about preventative medicine, coaching, and lifestyle interventions aimed at reducing long-term health risks.
Protected Admin Time: Each session includes 30 minutes of protected admin time, ensuring you have time to focus on patient care and documentation.
About You: GMC registered (you dont need to be on the performers list).
You have a strong interest in lifestyle and preventative medicine.
Excellent communication skills, effective time management, a forward-thinking approach, and a good working knowledge of IT systems.
