Requirements:
We are looking for candidates who possess the following experience and technical skills:
Leadership and mentoring capabilities. Experience in incident/problem resolution management. Proven ability in managing complex 24x7 high availability web application systems. A development background with experience in scripting, Linux systems, development languages, and databases is an advantage. Understanding of DevOps and Continuous Integration, Delivery methods, and techniques. Experience in performance tuning, monitoring, and alerting. Ability to mentor and lead less experienced team members. Experience in ensuring the correct implementation of standards and procedures, including identifying capacity issues and initiating required changes. Knowledge of future technology directions. Experience in delivering high availability systems, targeting 99.5% availability. A proactive approach to incident resolution and a focus on rapid delivery of user-centric services. Experience in managing technical teams in high-pressure environments, fostering team development. Ability to design and deliver quality services to users. Understanding of Companies House systems and processes is advantageous but not essential. Your responsibilities are:
As a Principal WebOps/DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Leading the application support and DevOps/WebOps teams, ensuring the maintenance and support of both internal and public-facing systems. Transitioning the team from a WebOps to a DevOps mindset. Motivating and mentoring team members while fostering career development and innovation. Building productive working relationships with management, team members, and other departments. Managing and delivering business priorities amidst process and technology change. Leading and supporting incident/problem resolution across IT services. Ensuring web applications maintain a public availability target of 99.5%. Implementing standards and procedures effectively and addressing capacity issues promptly.
