We are looking for a Principal Wastewater Modeller to join our teams in Leeds, Manchester & Warrington.
Key Responsibilities Technical lead for network modelling projects Line Management of project team members with responsibility for: day-to-day leadership and direction for the team, workload planning, technical guidance, driving staff performance and career development.
Implementation of industry standards and development of innovative solutions.
Management of all health and safety, quality and environmental aspects of projects.
Technical development and delivery of wastewater catchment strategies and solutions, to include flooding and CSO drivers. Provide technical and commercial leadership in the delivery of wastewater network projects within agreed timeframes and budgets and to exceed our clients' expectations Support and supervise the wastewater modelling team, ensuring technical excellence and best industry practice Contribute to developing working methods, routines and innovative solutions to improve processes in the delivery of wastewater network projects Supervision of report writing check and review of technical modelling outputs.
Plan, programme and co-ordinate projects delivery Support the business to ensure the successful delivery of robust technical solutions Contribute to the preparation of cost estimates Be a visible part of Jacobs, raising our profile through conference presentations and papers Supporting management in developing relationships and sales with existing and new clients Developing tools, procedures and processes to drive efficiency and innovation We would like to hear from candidates with; Excellent knowledge of the water industry with a focus on wastewater network solutions.
Proficiency in wastewater modelling software such as InfoAsset Manager, and InfoWorks ICM, ArcGIS & MapInfo Strong technical ability in the outline design of wastewater schemes; sewage pumping systems and treatment facilities. Technical governance of outputs and compliance with client specifications.
Using network models for planning, operational and design purposes.
Expertise in 1D and 2D modelling.
Excellent knowledge in current industry best practice and able to actively contribute to innovation in this field of expertise.
Good supervising and leadership skills.
Ensuring project financial and programme performance.
Experience of liaising with Clients and managing projects.
Management and technical supervision of a team of modellers.
Here's what you'll need The candidate should be a highly motivated, competent and analytical person with track record in overseeing a network modelling team, delivering network analysis, model updates and solutions development. An excellent team player that works well on own initiative and possesses excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate will have experience in the management and development of the team and provide technical leadership in an urban drainage environment with an excellent client focus.
Chartered or working towards Chartered status Experience in the outline design of wastewater schemes; sewage pumping systems and treatment facilities.
Experience in Integrated Catchment Modelling Working knowledge of contract types and procurement options.
Ensuring project financial and schedule performance.
Experience of supporting tendering procedures and proposals.
Demonstrable track record of technical achievement and client satisfaction within the water industry Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Positive outlook and approachable manner.
Capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal staff and external clients Ability to be flexible and to be able to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.
Self-motivated, able to work as part of a team or on individual assignments when required.
Ability to complete assignments on time, within budget and to a high technical standard.
