The team has a central role in delivering cycling and walking transport projects that support the Local Transport Plan, Carbon Neutral 2028 Plan and other economic and environmental strategies.In this role you will lead on the development and implementation of schemes that feature within the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan.Working with the East Midlands Combined County Authorities, you will ensure that Active Travel is a key feature in the Local Transport Plan in the Nottingham Urban Area.
You will represent the City Council's interests and influence cycling and walking strategy at the national and sub-national level in respect of integrating transport and land use planning and play a key role in the continuous improvement of the Planning Directorate.About YouThe ideal candidate will have: A degree or equivalent in Transport Planning or related discipline, qualified to be eligible for membership of relevant professional organisation .
IHT, CILT or relevant employment experience in transport, planning or related discipline.
Experience of effective transport policy and programme development, implementation and monitoring.
Thorough knowledge of local transport policy practice, its legislative background, policy and procedural context and ability to apply knowledge to develop local strategies and projects.
Understanding of transport linkages with economic development, land use planning, regeneration, social inclusion, health and the environment.
