With a strong market reputation and a commitment to delivering outstanding quality; they are seeking a Principal Solicitor (Regulatory and Corporate) to join their legal team.
About the opportunity:
The candidate will be responsible for providing legal support and advice to all functions.
This is a senior position requiring expertise in regulatory, corporate and financing matters.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational legal guidance across the organisation, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
As well as helping to drive improvements in business processes and participating in delivery training on legal and contractual issues.
Key responsibilities for the role including providing regulatory and compliance advice, corporate, financing and transactional expertise.
You will be responsible for advising and leading from a legal perspective on all aspects of regulatory compliance, including obligations under the Gas Act 1986, energy codes, and related legislation.
In addition to support engagement with regulatory bodies such as Ofgem, providing and/or co-ordinating advice on licence conditions, price controls, and other regulatory frameworks.
Lead legal aspects of regulatory submissions, consultations, and compliance monitoring.
As well as advising on financing arrangements, including debt facilities and investment structures.
The candidate must bring a proactive, business and solution-oriented mindset to legal matters and a proven ability to work collaboratively across the organisation and the wider legal team.
About you:
The successful candidate will have at least 8 PQE, having trained in a top UK law firm.
in-house experience in a regulated industry.
Strong expertise in regulatory law, ideally with specific experience in energy or utilities sectors.
Proven experience in corporate law, including financing arrangements and commercial contracts
Ideally you would have experience of working in a fast-paced in-house environment.
