Principal/Senior Highway Engineer

We are looking for a Principal/Senior Highway Engineer who has extensive experience in Highway design.
This is a 6-month contract role with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring attendance at our client's office 3-4 days per week.
Ideally candidates will be Chartered or Incorporated.
The position falls outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities: ·Preparing feasibility studies, designs, scheme drawings, and calculations.
·Drafting contract documents and specifications.
·Project planning, management, and progress monitoring.
·Liaising with clients and contractors to ensure project alignment.
·Applying a thorough working knowledge of the DMRB, LTN 1/20, and other current design standards.
·Proficiency in design software such as Civils 3D and/or MX is advantageous.
Specific Objectives: ·Consistently delivering high-quality technical design services.
·Providing training, support, and guidance to team members.
·Maintaining effective communication and liaison with clients.
·Reporting directly to the Highways Director.
·Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical integration.
·Managing financial and commercial aspects of projects.
Required Experience and Skills: ·A minimum of 10 years of practical design experience in a highway design office.
·Proven experience working with Local Authorities.
·Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
