Principal Primary Engineer - Hv Substations

Our client is now looking for a Principal Primary Design Engineer to join their team, working in the Transmission & Distribution sector. You will be expected to take the CDAE role for HV Plant for National Grid projects and will also be responsible for supervising a small team.

You have the option to be based in either London, the North West, the East Midlands, or Scotland depending on what is closest to you.

Principal Responsibilities: You will be an important figure in the team, delivering detailed and complex turnkey designs. Work on flagship, high-profile projects in the UK. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will have links into the wider network of engineers within the business to learn and grow. Reporting to the HV Substation Team Lead. Provide updates to the Business Development Tracker. Guide junior and other engineers involved in technical tasks. Guide CAD technicians working in packages such as AutoCAD, Revit, Microstation, etc. Key Skills/Experience Required: Significant experience in the production of all designs, calculations, reports & drawings associated with new or modifications of HV substation projects up to 400kV, covering primary design and engineering elements. Experience as HV Plant CDAE accreditation by National Grid, or not yet accredited but have worked on National Grid projects. Sufficient UK National Grid design experience. Preferably from a Power Engineering background. Required Qualifications None
