You will be required to work collaboratively in a safe, caring and respectful way.To find out more about NHS Ayrshire and Arran please visit our website - Position:An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Principal Pharmacist - Pharmacotherapy, on a fixed term/secondment opportunity basis for 2 years.What you will do:We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to lead the continued development of the pharmacotherapy service within Ayrshire and Arran.
The post holder will also provide line management to the pharmacy team within East Ayrshire HSCP.You will have responsibility for the design and delivery of strategic and operational priorities in relation to the pharmacotherapy service and primary care prescribing improvement.
This will include reviewing skill mix, optimising serial prescribing, supporting the development of advanced practice and delivery of prescribing efficiencies.
As Principal Pharmacist Pharmacotherapy, you will work with the Primary Care Programme Lead Officers, Programme Managers, Clinical Directors and the wider pharmacy leadership team.
You will also be working in collaboration with service leads from a range of other disciplines to ensure the service aligns with the principles of our Caring for Ayrshire strategy.Sustainability of service and continued professional development is fundamental to the success of the service.
As Principal Pharmacist you will work with key local and national stakeholders, to share and utilise models of best practice.
NHS A&A has a continued commitment to the development of all members of the pharmacy team to ensure they are able to deliver an effective and valued service to our citizens.The posts are based Eglinton House and Ayrshire Central Hospital.
Occasionally however, you may be required to work in other areas within NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
For further information on the role please click the link below to view the job descriptionKnowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:Qualifications:Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).Postgraduate Qualification to Masters level in a recognised area of pharmacy practice (or demonstrable experience to that level)Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (including evidence of continuous professional development)Independent prescriber (desirable)Royal Pharmaceutical Society membership (desirable)Experience:Demonstrable experience at a senior level within a recognised and relevant area of pharmacy practiceTrack record of service development, management, evaluation and improvement Track record of achievement in workforce development and management and budgetary management.Track record in achievement in change managementPersonal experience within the portfolioTrack record of leading a team and being part of other teams Advanced interpersonal skills.Evidence of multidisciplinary working.Involvement in Education and Training of Healthcare professionals.Knowledge:Required to demonstrate an expert level of pharmacy knowledge, skills, clinical reasoning and judgement.Computer literate with knowledge of information technology.Knowledge of NHS Scotland.Critical Leadership behavioursWorking in partnershipLearning and developingCaring for staffImproving performance through team workingCommunicates effectivelyImproving qualityAchieving resultsFor further information on the requirements for the role please click the link below to view the person specificationHours: 37 per weekDriving Licence/Car Ownership:A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.INFO
