ARM's hardware is at the heart of the computing and connectivity revolution that continues to transform the way people live and businesses operate. Working as a team and engaging with the world's most famous technology companies, we are driving innovation into all areas that compute is possible, to help us build better solutions for the billions of people using our technology worldwide. With our cutting-edge processor designs providing the intelligence in billions of silicon chips to date, our engineers are surrounded by groundbreaking products they have helped to create. As we continue to grow we need the best engineers to join a team building on decades of industry leading experience.
Would you like to be part of a creative, multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment, in a role with exciting responsibilities and a chance to create an impact on our industry? We would love to hear from you!
You will be based at ARM's Headquarters in Cambridge, UK.
Design engineers in the GPU Group are responsible for innovation and development of next-generation GPU IP for graphics and compute. They are required to have in-depth understanding across all the elements that contribute to the products' successful delivery, including: low-power design techniques, awareness of the impact of design decisions on system performance, ability to produce designs that are area efficient, and the verification techniques that are employed to ensure high-quality robust designs.
We are looking for dedicated, expert engineers who are capable of owning parts of GPU micro-architecture, contributing to all phases of the design flow:
The definition and implementation of hardware designsTechnically supporting other specialistsWriting and reviewing design and verification documentationPlanning and tracking design tasks to meet the targets at the planned timeEssential Skills and Experience:Hands-on experience using System Verilog, Verilog or VHDL HDL for designExperience in complex design that achieve area, frequency and power targetsAbility to make judgements on functionality, performance, and physical implementation trade-offsExperience of producing specifications and documentation describing complex designsAbility to own all stages of a project from start to completion: concept, specification, implementation and testing, supportTechnical reviewing of others' workUnderstanding of the fundamentals of computer architectureDesirable Experience:Practical experience of working on GPU/microprocessor designsKnowledge of 3D Graphics - OpenGL, Vulkan, DirectXWorking knowledge of SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA)Mentoring team membersExperience in leading teams or projectsKnowledge of scripting e.g., Python, Perl or Unix shell scriptingExperience of design for Safety and SecurityKnowledge of assembly language, C/C++In Return:In return, you will get to influence the direction of our Mali and Immortalis GPU product lines, learn about the latest GPU and graphics technologies, utilise your engineering skills to build support for the technologies and influence millions of devices for years to come. You will be able to drive and bring your ideas to a wider group of our leading guides, create your technical leadership and influencing skills and build towards becoming an established and recognised guide within the existing team.
