Job Description Principal CAD Draughtsperson/Technician - Transmission and Distribution Our client is seeking an experienced Draughtsperson with a proven track record in managing teams and delivering high-quality engineering drawings.
The successful candidate will oversee a team comprising Senior and Junior Draughtspersons as well as Apprentices, ensuring the timely and accurate production of engineering drawings across various projects.
Ideally you will be educated to A level standard (or equivalent) and will have at least 5 GCSE's (Grades A-C or equivalent) including English and Maths.
You will have a HND/HNC (or equivalent in Engineering and also hold a UK Driving licence (or one acceptable to our insurers) You will have a minimum 10 years relevant experience in an Engineering/Civils environment, a strong working knowledge of relevant software (including Autocad, Microstation Connect, SolidEdge and an up-to-date working knowledge of Industry specific standards and practices and applying relevant essential Health and Safety/CDM issues.
Can come from a Civil and/or Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical CAD background but must have Transmission and Distribution experience Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include: Managing the production of high quality engineering drawing across the team in accordance with company and industry specific standards.
Responsibility for team deliverables to the Design Department Provide Engineering CAD expertise Manage workflow of the team to meet deadlines Produce and manage the team to produce a wide range of CAD drawings using different software Undertake QA/QC checks across a broad range of engineering CAD deliverables and can self-check own work prior to approval stage RC detailing Steel detailing Rebar Schedules Requirements T&D.
