Principal Conveyancing Officer - Affordable Housing (P01316) Job Introduction Main Responsibilities The Ideal Candidate Package Description Principal Conveyancing Officer - Affordable Housing (P01316) (12-month Fixed Term Contract) Starting salary £44,937pa with potential progression to £52,279pa on achieving designated skills and experience 37 hours per week (hybrid working with at least one office day per week) About the role: This is a key role which will lead on the delivery and co-ordination of legal support to the Council's Affordable Housing Programme.
This includes housing regeneration work encompassing various types of conveyancing transactions, contracts, compulsory purchase, related infrastructure projects and open market purchases.
You will be the main legal adviser for this project.
You will provide legal clearance to the committee reports dealing with all affordable housing matters.
You will have management responsibility for a Conveyancing Officer supporting aspects of the programme and you may be required to provide supervision to other, more junior, lawyers and trainees.
You will co-ordinate any external legal advice commissioned for the project and cover for the Legal Services Manager as appropriate.
About you: We are looking for an experienced senior lawyer to join our busy, friendly, legal team.
Previous experience in the relevant areas and knowledge of local government law are essential as you will be expected to hit the ground running with a substantial caseload.
You will be an excellent team player and organised with strong client-facing skills and the ability to pro-actively meet key deadlines in accordance with the Council's Delivery Plan for the Affordable Housing Programme.
