As the Principal Consultant for Process Safety and Technical Safety, you will establish the strategic direction for process safety management at Thames Water. You will lead the development and assurance of a comprehensive Process Safety Management System. As an expert in your field, you will collaborate closely with colleagues throughout the organisation to ensure that recognised standards and statutory requirements effectively manage process safety and risk control standards.
What you'll be doing as a Principal Consultant - Process Safety & Technical SafetyYou will lead the development and implementation of the process safety management strategy, confirming the accountability and responsibility of appropriate stakeholders for overall successful delivery.Develop, document, maintain and communicate a process safety management system (process safety leadership, risk identification and assessment, risk management, reviews and improvements) to control the risk of significant process hazards at Thames Water.Document company standards for hazard studies and risk assessment to identify significant hazards and develop controls to eliminate the risks.Develop and maintain standards for safety in design, including safety and environmentally critical tasks (including process design, hazardous areas, relief systems, safety instrumented systems, human factors, change management, etc.)Develop, document, maintain, and communicate a process safety audit framework for the end-to-end asset lifecycle to assure compliance with the process safety management system, including regulatory standards.Assign accountability and responsibility. Collate, review, report and (as required) escalate assurance findings.Provide guidance and support to the business regarding process safety.Set the standards for investigating any process safety incidents.As appropriate, lead and provide technical expertise for process safety investigations. Define and categorise the business safety incidents and their potential impact.Develop, document and communicate minimum requirements for competency in process safety for holders of responsibility within the process safety management system.This role will be at Clearwater Court; you must attend the office and sites as business needs, but the role will be significantly remote working.
Thirty-six hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Must be a driver and have access to a car; this role does come with a car allowance.
