YOUR NEW ROLE, WHAT'S INVOLVED? We are seeking a Principal Engineer to be based out of the Bristol office who can:
Work directly with our clients to achieve their sustainable transport needs; Act as Project Manager on a wide range of projects whilst helping to grow and develop our work with clients; Have highway design, active travel design, and traffic engineering experience; Prepare and review reports, drawings, schedules, and other documents in accordance with local procedures and guidance; Be responsible for the financial performance of projects; Undertake technical review and checking of design deliverables within the team; Work collaboratively with the Liveable Places team and our colleagues in the wider Mobility team and the broader WSP business to achieve our aims and objectives. WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE: A civil engineering degree or equivalent; Membership of a relevant professional body; Obtained or working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer Professional status; Proven ability to lead and manage project teams and individuals; Highway design, active travel, or traffic engineering experience; The ability to prioritise, achieve deadlines, and work with minimal supervision; Good spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with public sector officials, members of the public, and other senior colleagues. YOUR TEAM The Liveable Places team works with a wide range of local authority and private clients from across the UK to help them achieve their place-making ambitions. We deliver a wide range of schemes from concept to delivery that include public realm, traffic engineering, road safety, traffic signals, pedestrian/traffic modelling, active travel, and parking. We have had recent key successes with various councils across the UK. The Liveable Places team is based in offices across the country with over 200 staff, currently making up the team with further growth planned.
