Job summary Weare excited to advertise an opportunity for a Principal Clinical or CounsellingPsychologist to oversee the development and delivery of a brand-new project.The role will deliver a collective systemic intervention to improve theprovision of psychological care to people requiring cardiac rehabilitationacross the West Yorkshire system.
This post requires someone who is interestedin developing services to reduce health inequalities for marginalised groupswho typically miss out on cardiac rehabilitation and the psychological benefitsof this.
Weare looking for someone who can work with complex systems as well as deliver atime-limited psychologically based systemic intervention, evaluate its impactand feedback learning from the project to relevant stakeholders.
This would be an excellent opportunity for any current8as who might be wanting to progress and develop leadership and servicedevelopment skills.

Main duties of the job The role will involve developing excellentworking relationships with the leads from the cardiac rehab services toappraise the psychological needs of the patient groups, developing strong linkswith local talking therapies services and furthering good knowledge of thelocal offers of tier four services offered by the acute hospital trusts in theregion.
Besides excellent communication skills, the post-holder will be capableof drawing together a range of location-based offers, alongside three AssistantPsychologists who will deliver the project.
You will have responsibility forsupporting these staff to develop self-help resources aimed at improvingpatients psychological well-being and supporting cardiac rehabilitation staffto increase their knowledge of screening or signposting individuals to thecorrect place to receive the right psychological support.
About us Thesuccessful candidate will be hosted by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust butwill work across the West Yorkshire region (Leeds, Calderdale, Mid Yorkshireand Airedale) to support a needs analysis of the current position.
You will besupported by an experienced consultant clinical psychologist and a passionategroup of clinicians who have all worked together to support this stimulatingpost.

Job description Job responsibilities JOBPURPOSEToprovide a qualified specialist clinical or counselling psychology service topatients who are seen within the designated clinical speciality/area, acrossall sites and sectors of care by: a) Providing specialist psychologicalassessments and therapyb) Offering advice and consultation onpatients psychological and neuropsychological care to non-psychologistcolleagues and to other non-professional carers c) Developing, supporting and maintainingeffective working relationships with other disciplines within the serviceareas, including attending Team meetingsd) Using research skills for audit, policyand service development and leading on research projects within the area servedby the team/servicee) Proposing and implementing policychanges within the specialist area servedf) Line managing Early Career and SeniorClinical or Counselling Psychologists in the discrete clinical speciality thatthe post covers and making a contribution to the general management, governanceand supervision of the clinical/counselling psychology service as agreed g) Working autonomously in the delivery ofthese duties within professional guidelines, the evidence-based literature andthe overall framework of the Team, Department of Clinical & HealthPsychology and Trust policies and procedures.3.

TrainingEssential: Further training in a specialisedarea of clinical practice through formal post- doctoral training (diploma orequivalent).
