If so then we invite you to be part of our psychology team in the Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust Learning Disability Division.
The Division provides clinical services toadults with learning disabilities across the Black Country, continually evolving in line with the Transforming Care Programme.
As the Principal Psychologist based with the Wolverhampton Community Learning Disability Team you will lead our psychology provision for the Division across Wolverhampton.
You will provide line management and professional leadership for a small number of psychologists in your team.
You will work alongside an experienced MDT and supportive psychology colleagues to deliver high quality, person centred services that aim to achieve positive life outcomes for individuals.
This post also brings opportunities for you to play an integral role in developing our community Learning Disability Pathways as part of our exciting and innovative community transformation project.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Psychologist who ideally has experience in working with adults with a learning disability.
You will be supported by a Consultant Clinical Psychology leadership team who encourage you to phone and have a chat about the role.
Main duties of the job Leading the provision of psychological care throughout the Wolverhampton locality for individualswho have a primary diagnosis of Learning Disabilities who are also experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or behaviour.
Provide leadership to more junior psychologists within the service.
Provide psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other staff contributing directly to client's diagnosis, formulation and intervention plan.
Work in partnership with other disciplines to achieve positive outcomes for individuals and their carers Deliver safe, compassionate and meaningful interventions in line with governance standards recommended by organisations such as Royal College of Psychologists, NICE & CQC To join the team you will need: To be a confident and competent practitioner, who can work autonomously Be confident and effective in clinically coordinating the assessment and intervention processes of the clinical pathway Communicate efficiently with key stakeholders within and outside of the organisation to influence outcomes for individuals Effectively manage time and be able to prioritise own workload Give direction and supervision to others in formal and informal settings Have good IT skills Supervision of junior staff and holding personal development conversations Participate in reflective practice and service development About us At Black Country NHS Foundation Trust we are building a high calibre, inclusive and diverse mental health workforce.

We have recently invested in created clinical divisions and are currently developing new models of integrated primary and secondary care for adults and older adults, as well as launching a far reaching inpatient strategy.
This ambitious model is multi-agency and multi-disciplinary, opening the door for you to work in a collaborative and flexible way with partners, service users, carers and their families As the post involves working across the 4 Black Country areas having a full driving licence and car is essential to the role.
The team operates an 8-8 service so flexible working is necessary between these hours as dictated by the needs of the service and its users.
This includes Bank Holidays and weekends.
Due to the nature of the work some posts may be subject to a Standard/Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure check, as stipulated under part V of the Police Act 1997.

Person Specification Essential and desireable Essential Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied Psychology (or its equivalent) Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice Active participation in quality and service improvement initiatives Articulate the value added by applied psychology services within the context of multidisciplinary mental health and learning disability healthcare provision Able to work flexibly and co-operatively as part of a team Desirable Highly developed knowledge and skills in the care of difficult to treat groups dual diagnoses, additional disabilities or severely challenging behaviour
