Primary Urgent Care Centre Nurse PractitionerHomerton Healthcare NHS Foundation TrustWe are looking to recruit an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) with skills and experience in managing minor illness, to join our team.
We are a busy East London Hospital with a dedicated injuries unit and urgent care centre.
Both services are Nurse led.
The units are co-located within the emergency department.
The emergency department sees in excess of 100,000 per year.
Both services see approximately 30,000 patients per annum and this is increasing.
You will need to be flexible as a shift system operates in both areas and the service operates until midnight.
A non-medical prescribing qualification would be desirable but not essential.
The ability to work under pressure and autonomously is essential for this post.
Funded training opportunities will be considered for the successful candidate.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder is required to take a complete history and perform clinical examination to diagnose and implement treatment for patients presenting with varied conditions.
The post holder is also required to be able to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and discharge patients or refer to a specialist as necessary.
As an autonomous practitioner, the post holder will work within their scope of practice and according to broad local policies and procedures.
The post holder must be proactive in promoting health and wellbeing to patients and give health advice and education.
The post holder will act as a mentor and clinical educator to other staff members and nursing students.
The post holder is expected to further their own education, keep up to date with skills and competencies, monitor and update local policies and procedures and to develop and participate in clinical research.
