Job summary Cambridge City 4 Primary Care Network Ltd. offers an exciting opportunity to join our established team of 4 Clinical Pharmacists and 5 Technicians based around our 6 network GP practices in central Cambridge.
As a Primary Care Pharmacy Technician you will be working across the Cambridge City 4 Primary Care Network to support the delivery and development of our Pharmacy services, carrying out clinical medication reviews, high risk drug monitoring, supporting vaccination clinics, processing discharge medication and medication management.
You will be working in partnership with the patients GP practice, community pharmacists, nurses, care homes, secondary care as well as the extended PCN personalised care and physiotherapy teams.

Main duties of the job To support the management and development of the prescribingsystems to ensure safe, effective and quality prescribing within the practices.To work closely with the lead GP partners for prescribing onindividual prescribing projects or audits.To develop strong working relationships with communitypharmacies.To act as lead contact for any complex prescribing queries fromstaff.Support the practice drug monitoring protocols, as per NICE guidelines.Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the local formulary guidelines and use of digital resources eclipse.Communicating with patients/carers and members of thehealthcare team including GP's, nurses and receptionists.Liaising with local pharmacies and hospitals regardingdischarge queries, and helping to ensure optimum therapy and to ensure asmooth transition from Secondary to Primary Care.Answer ad hoc medication drug queries from GPs, nurses andother healthcare professionals within the post holders expertise.support clinicaladministration, projects and audits to improve services and initiatives toenhance safety, quality and cost effectiveness.to work autonomously and be capable of prioritisingwork whilst maintaining accurate and timely records.Partake in PCN pharmacy team meetings with a positive and encouraging attitude towards team work , PCN prospects, problem solving and future development .To facilitate and participate in multidisciplinary meetingsand educational sessions related to prescribing topics.

Person Specification Experience Essential * Professional registration with GPhC * BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences * Experience of working as a qualified, registered Pharmacy Technician in primary care/secondary care/community care * Knowledge and understanding of pharmacy law, ethics and current legislation * Good clinical pharmacy knowledge including terminology * Sound computer skills, proficient with MS Office * Excellent understanding of data protection and confidentiality * Works effectively independently and as a member of a team * Has attention to detail, able to work accurately, identifying errors quickly and easily * Has excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to adjust communication style and content to suit the audience * Has a planned and organised approach with an ability to prioritise their own workload to meet strict deadlines * Self motivated and proactive * Continued commitment to improve skills and ability to work in new areas * Demonstrate ability to work in a busy environment; ability to deal with both urgent and important tasks and to prioritise effectively whilst also supporting others * Excellent time keeping Desirable * Completed CPPE pathway * Experience in General Practice environment * Experience in using SystemOne and/or EMIS clinical systems * Evidence of continued professional development * Understanding of PCN DES Pharmacy indicators * Hold a current driving license Qualifications Essential BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences Desirable CPPE pathway
