Job summary Band 2 Receptionist/ Clinic Co-ordinatorWe are looking for a well-motivated and enthusiastic individual, with a keen desire to join our busy team who pride themselves on delivering high standards of care to all of our patients.
Full time ( hrs per week), permanent contract.
The successful applicant should be experienced in general administration and have a good aptitude for working with various in-house computer systems.
Our clinic is open Monday - Friday, 7am to 6pm.
The hour shift pattern will reflect this.

Main duties of the job You should be able to: Work well within a team, have excellent organisational skills, manage your own workload and time well, and be willing to be flexible in your approach to working hours.
You should have excellent communication skills and a reassuring, calm approach when dealing with patients, relatives, members of staff and members of the public visiting our department.
Although based in the Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic, you will be required to collect notes and documents from across the whole site.

Person Specification Knowledge and Experience Essential Previous reception or customer facing experience in a healthcare or public setting Clerical/administration experience including filing and/or reception Desirable Previous NHS experience Skills and Abilities Essential Excellent/professional telephone/ reception manner Flexible approach to duties Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy Able to communicate clearly and act quickly in emergency Good IT skills including Microsoft packages Tidy and methodical working practice Attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a busy team, adjust to change and motivate others Ability to work independently and as part of a team take instructions from nurse in charge Confidence to handle difficult conversations with patients, relatives and carers Desirable To have a basic understanding of medical terminology IT skills/ Transcribing from dictations desirable only Qualifications and Training Essential Educated to GCSE, grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths Aptitudes Essential Respecting Everyone Embracing change Recognising Success Working Together
