Job summary West Street Surgery has a large and supportive nursing team.
With 3 Nurse Prescribers, 2 Treatment Room Nurses, 1 HCA/Phlebotomist and 1 GPA/HCA/Phlebotomist; you will joining an experienced and established team.We are currently looking for a nurse to replace a member of the team who has relocated.The role is offered as a part-time treatment room nurse (minimum We are looking for a nurse to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
Hours are flexible to the right candidate.As part of our Practice commitment to housebound patients, our nursing team schedule home visits everyday so that our housebound patients have the same access to our Practice Team.
You will need to be able to offer home visits as part of you rota and therefore be able to drive and have access to a car.
Main duties of the job To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team.
The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by a Treatment Room Nurse and in addition any roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training.West Street Surgery currently has a contract for anticoagulation management using INR Star software.
Following training this will become part of your day to day rota together with the main nurse duties.In addition there is also the opportunity to contribute current skills or learn new skills in the management of long-term conditions.

Job description Job responsibilities Clinical Practice Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate programmes to promote health and well-being, and prevent adverse effects on health and well-being Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for patients with a known long-term condition Carry out home visits to our housebound patients to ensure that they can access quality care and review their long-term conditions Identify, and manage as appropriate, treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that encourage patients to live healthily, and apply principles of self-care Deliver opportunistic health promotion using opportunities such as new-patient medicals Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side effects and interactions Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote patients to live healthily, and encourage principles of self-care Assess and care for patients presenting with uncomplicated wounds Support and advise women requesting information relating to family planning needs Support and manage health needs of women presenting
