We are seeking an enthusiastic,pro-active and autonomous practitioner to work within the Nursing team.
Thereis never a dull moment - if you are looking for a job that offers great varietyworking within a large friendly team, this could be the perfect opportunity foryou!This is apermanent position with up to full time hours available; working up to 8 hoursper day between 8am-8pm Mon-FriPay range: ££ perhour for non-prescriber depending on experience Main duties of the job Within the role of the Practice Nurse, the post holder will deliver evidence-based care within their professional competence and manage the care of patients with long term health conditions in addition to providing all aspects of nursing duties including wound care, vaccination, cervical cytology screening and health promotion.
The post holder will also support and supervise Nursing Associates and Health Care Assistants.Specialist interest and experience is preferable in at least one of the following areas:Child immunisationsCervical screeningRespiratoryDiabetesFamily planning A willingness to train in the identified areas is essential for the right candidate if no previous experience.
A basic knowledge of computers is essential.
Previous use of SystmOne would be an advantage however full training will be given.An enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.
About us We are a largepractice based over 2 sites in the market town of Daventry and surroundingvillages, with a patient population of roughly 22,500 patients.
We are a professional and supportive team ofGPs, GP Registrars, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedic Practitioners, MentalHealth Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, Nursing Associates and Health Care Assistants.
In addition to a growing MDT team and a dedicated Patient Support and Medical Secretarial team.
Job description Job responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities include: Managing long term conditions within competence.
Working collaboratively with general practitioners to provide the highest level of care.
Assessing, evaluating and monitoring treatment plans.
Be competent and up to date with cervical cytology screening, childhood immunisations, contraception management and all aspects of immunisations and vaccinations.
Be proactive in promoting a healthy lifestyle and care navigate to appropriate services.
Mentor and support, nursing associates and health care assistants.
Advise on foreign travel and administering travel vaccinations.
Managing complex pressure dressings and wound care management.
Ensure infections control procedures and policies are followed and kept current.
Participate in practice audits, development plans and meetings.
Maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhering to Code of Professional Conduct.
Promote own continuous professional development.
Any other reasonable duties that may be required on occasion.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential RGN qualifications Current NMC registration Enhanced DBS check Desirable Accredited training in chronic disease management Accredited training in contraception and sexual health Compression and complex wound management All relevant and necessary training will be given to the necessary candidate who has the willingness to undertake training.
