Job summary JOBSUMMARY To provide and maintain a high standard ofnursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to thedoctors and other members of the primary health care team.
The duties willinclude all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced Registered Nurse and inaddition any roles agreed between the nurses and doctors as appropriate, havingregard to current training.
Clinically, the focus of the role is thedelivery of evidenced based practice for patients with long-term conditions, managementand preventative interventions to all patients.
As an autonomous practitionerthe nurse is responsible for the care delivered, demonstrating criticalthinking and skills in clinical decision making.
They will work collaborativelywith the multi-disciplinary team framework to meet the needs of the patients,supporting the delivery of policies and procedures and providing leadership anddirection for the nursing team.
Main duties of the job Offer advice aboutchildhood and adult vaccinations and ensure vaccines are administered underpatient group directionsAdvise on health promotionprogrammes by providing a holistic assessment and lifestyle advice on diet,smoking, alcohol intake and exercise.
Facilitates change.Able to document consultationsaccording to NMC guidelines.Ensures awareness ofstatutory and local safeguarding procedures, incl.
systems ofreferral.
Ability to recognise signs and symptoms of child abuse.Perform a holisticassessment of Pts attending for cervical smear tests.Provide a holisticapproach to wound management and implement wound care in line with current evidence-basedguidelines.Ability to perform sutureremoval, and other treatment room functions including ECG, CPR etc.Support the managementof Pts with Long Term ConditionsRequesting pathologytests, urine culture, swabsOffer a holisticapproach to travel health, providing comprehensive advice to patients priorto travel incl.
