Job summary Lister Medical Centre has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice nurse to join our team on a full or part time basis, the hours will be discussed at interview.
Main duties of the job work as part of the health centre team in collaboration with the general practitioners and develop an effective, quality driven practice nurse service.
promote integrated nursing practice within the wider nursing team underpinned by the development of evidence-based practice guidelines, for shared delivery of care to the whole practice population.
ensure clinical effectiveness by monitoring of key quality markers relating to guidelines.
About us We are a friendly, supportive, democratic, well organised and enthusiastic GMS practice, dedicated to providing traditional family orientated general practice based at a new purpose built single site health centre in Harlow.
We currently have approximately 20,000 patients, 5 partners, 3 salaried GPs, a large nursing support team and a vast array of administrative staff.
We are a training practice and also a teaching practice for Cambridge students; we are also a research practice.
We have consistent high achievement in all QOF and Enhanced Services areas with an innovative team structure with individual patient lists (around 2,500 per FTE GP).
We operate the SystmOne computer system.
We are active members of local GP federation and ICB.
Lister Medical Centre has easy access to M11/M25, is close to London and Stansted and attractive Essex and Hertfordshire countryside with excellent schools.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential A relevant nursing degree.
Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
Fundamentals of Practice Nursing course (General Practice Nurse Foundation Programme) or equivalent experience or qualifications; Competence to undertake asthma, COPD and diabetic clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates.
Desirable Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, dressing and wound care, Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work.
The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice.
Knowledge, and experience of its application, in supporting long-term conditions.
Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS.
