Job summary Riverbank Medical Centre is a friendly, well established, high achieving nine partner practice who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed nurse to join our nursing team.The post will be three days a week, Tuesday 9am - 2pm, Thursday and Friday 9am to These are our preferred hours but there is some flexibility with this.
The successful applicant will also need to have the flexibility to cover holiday and sickness leave.
Being in primary care means there is no night, weekend or bank holiday working required.
Main duties of the job The position will initially involve working in our busy treatment room providing general nursing duties such as dressings, injections, phlebotomy, ECG's and ear care.
Future progression to running chronic disease management clinics is envisaged.
About us Our nursing team comprises of four nurses and five health care assistants who all work closely together to provide care to our 13000 patients.

Job description Job responsibilities MainPurpose of the post : to providetreatment room sessions on a regular and relief basis.MainPurpose of the Practice Nurse : to assist medical personnel inthe care and treatment of practice patients to include preventative care,screening and patient education.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPractice Nurse To provide assessment, screening, treatment and health education advice To co-ordinate with the other Practice Nurses nursing services for the Practice to include the delegation of duties to other practice nursing staff as appropriate.
Provide nursing treatments to patients in participation with the General Practitioners to agreed protocols.
Provide general and specific health screenings to the practice patients (within agreed protocols) with referral to General Practitioners as necessary.
Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments with referral to General Practitioners as necessary.
Advise patients on immunisation needs for travelling.
Carry out routine immunisation programmes for infants, children and adults.Treatment Room Supplies and Equipment In participation with the other Practice Nurses, ensure the maintenance of equipment and stock levels relating to patient care referring to the Practice Manager or her assistant as necessary.Pathological specimens and investigatory procedures Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, smears etc.
Perform any investigatory procedures requested by the General Practitioners.Administration and Professional Responsibilities Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the Practice Team.
Ensure accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients computer notes.
Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient care and registration with the Practice.
Ensure collection and maintenance of statistical information required for regular and ad hoc reports.
Attend and participate in practice meetings as required.
Attend and participate in all Treatment Room training sessions as required.
Assist in the formation of practice philosophy, strategy and policy.Research Projects Co-operate and participate in any research projects within the practice.Education and training of students and Practice Staff.
Participate in the education and training of students of all disciplines and the induction of all members of Practice Staff with special responsibility for nursing staff.Liaison Maintain effective liaison with other agencies and staff concerned with patient care and with all other disciplines within the practice, with appropriate regard for confidentiality.Professional development Maintain continued education by attendance at courses and study days as deemed useful or necessary for professional development.
