Job summary The Hawthorns Medical Centre is a GP practice (circa 3500 patients) in Smethwick, West Midlands.
It is part of Oldbury and Smethwick PCN.Due to change in staff, we have a vacancy for a practice manager to join our enthusiastic, forward-thinking GP surgery practice team.
We have up to 30 hours per week available and are able to work flexibly with the right candidate.
Main duties of the job The role is responsible for ensuring the practice operates effectively, HR, compliance, overseeing premises management, developing and implementing new systems and processes and we are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in these areas.

We have a team of regular dedicated staff, including many different ARRs and a patient list size of around 3,500.We use SystmOne clinical system.Our practice continually strives to improve work processes and are looking for a new Practice Manager who is enthusiastic in being a part of forward changes.

Depending onworkload and staffing levels, there may be a requirement to carry out othertasks.
Overseethe management of the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring thatstaff achieve their primary responsibilities.
Managethe HR processes, including recruitment, relevant checks, contractual issues,appraisals and staff performance.
Ensureemployment law and legislation is adhered to.
Keepup to date with the developments and changes within primary care.
Assistin the preparation of business cases for new services, as required.
Responsiblefor communications with patients including complaints handling, website.
Assistin ensuring QQF and commissioned service targets are met.
Developingand implementing strategic plans to support the practice in its growth anddevelopment.
Managingcontracts for services Overseethe review and update of all practice policies and procedures.
EnsuringCQC compliance, support the management of the PPG Liaisewith external professional colleagues in appropriate settings and forum toensure that the Partners are kept up to date with issues and agendas.
