The post holder will have a lead role in the development and provision of practice education standards within Urgent Treatment Centre's and Minor Injury Units for the Urgent care pathway of the Unplanned Care Division.
The post holder will provide mentorship and work based learning facilitation, in-house curriculum design and teaching, higher education teaching.
They will support the development of enhanced clinical skills across the units, ensuring access to appropriate development to maintain a competent workforce.
They will support as a clinical leader and take a proactive role inadvisingto the clinical services in deliveringbest practice and evidence based care.
Developing clinical governance through the support, monitoring, and implementation of enhanced clinical standards and learning within the clinical services.
The post holder will be a registered nurse or AHP with a relevant post graduate certificate in education (or equivalent) or commitment to undertaking a relevant course in education.
Main duties of the job The post holder will work closely with the senior management team for Unplanned Care, Urgent Care pathway and will have strong links into the corporate professional practice team.
The aim of which is to support professional recommendations in relation to service redesign and new ways of working linked to operational and patient need.Provides education and support to workforce development processes, supporting initiatives and other clinical and quality improvement project work.Improving patient care and experience through development of standards and participation in bench marking, audit and research.Supporting multi-professional development and training by working collaboratively across health and social care.Acts as a clinical and educational expert, leading in clinical training, education and induction programmes.Identifies practice areas which require evaluation through team development planning and training needs gap analysis.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse or AHP Educated to degree level Registered as a Practice teacher with NMC or HCP ENB998/mentor at L5 or L6 or equivalent Desirable Care education or relevant qualification in education or working towards Experience Essential Minimum 5 years post reg clinical experience Experience in Urgent Care/Community provider services at band 6 or 7 Teaching and mentoring experience Physical assessment skills Advanced Wound care skills Desirable Demonstrable skills in leadership and management Independent Nurse Prescriber Skills and Knowledge Essential Ability to demonstrate up to date clinical expertise in relation to clinical practice Ability to demonstrate understanding of current NHS legislation and policies Advanced communication skills including difficult conversations, negotiation, managing conflict.
