Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced GPhCRegistered Pharmacy Technician to support the Practice in ensuring the deliveryof safe, effective and efficient systems for repeat prescribing andoptimisation of medicines management.
In order to be successful in this roleyou will need to have excellent communication skills and good IT abilities aswell as a sound knowledge of medicines management and medicines optimisationgained in either primary or secondary care settings.The Technician will help us develop the practice for thefuture and maintain the quality of our practice and explore new horizons.

To take a proactive approach to the safe handling of prescriptions,including assessment of risk and making recommendations for improvementTo respond to medication queries from patients and staff in a professional mannerreferring to the appropriate GP in accordance with practice protocolsTo adviseon the sourcing and safe management of medicines as appropriateTo assist in the submission of claims for personally administered drugs as requiredTo assist in the control of medicines stocks within the practice and to advise onthe safe and secure handling of controlled drugs and other medicines, ensuringcompliance with medicines legislation.To help plan, develop and support the introduction of new working processeswithin the practice to optimise the quality of prescribing.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician Full UK Driving licence Access to own transport and ability to travel between sites Ability to communicate complex and sensitive information effectively with people at all levels by telephone, email and face to face * Knowledge of IT systems, including ability to use word processing skills, emails and the internet to create simple plans and reports * Good personal organisational skills Effective time management * Demonstrate personal accountability, emotional resilience and work well under pressure Desirable Experience working in a primary care setting * Understanding and knowledge of healthcare provision in GP practices, QOF and enhanced services * An appreciation of the new NHS landscape including the relationships between individual practices, PCNs and the commissioners * Good clinical system IT knowledge of System one
