Portfolio Director

Details of the offer

Company Leading mid market private equity house now seeks to appoint a Portfolio Director to its South West team. Its commitment to backing mid-market businesses from across the economy has helped create one of the most diverse and exciting portfolios in private equity and as such, this represents a compelling and exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Director.
Collaborating closely with the fund's portfolio, you will provide tactical and operational support to drive value creation and market-leading performance, guiding investee management teams to success. Responsibilities include monitoring growth metrics and cash flow against strategic plans, challenging and refining strategies, supporting the execution of value creation initiatives, and leveraging professional networks when beneficial—all with the overarching goal of maximising shareholder value.
Role As part of a dynamic, high-performing investment team, the Portfolio Director will lead proactive oversight of an investee portfolio that includes both high-growth scaleups and established SMEs requiring a strategic focus.
This hands-on role involves providing targeted support to portfolio companies across various areas, such as market expansion, cost efficiency, bolt-on M&A, new business development, and exit strategy execution. As Portfolio Director, you will attend board and senior management meetings, offering strategic insights and constructive guidance. Additionally, you will deliver robust monthly and quarterly performance reviews for individual companies and the portfolio as a whole, ensuring ongoing alignment with growth objectives.
About You With a relevant qualification (ACA or ACCA), you bring experience in a senior financial and commercial management role, ideally within one or more businesses backed by institutional investors, or managing a portfolio of SME investments, particularly in a PE/VC or high-growth environment.
A proven business partner, you have a strong track record in driving profitable growth through initiatives such as turnarounds, restructures, M&A, or organic expansion. You also offer solid knowledge and insight into corporate finance transactions, including both equity and debt funding.
