We are currently looking to recruit policy consultants for our STI (Science, Technology and Innovation) and/or Education and Skills practice, to support the teams delivering studies, evaluations and impact assessments. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to contribute to our work on policy studies and evaluation within the context of advances in the state of the art and evolving government guidelines for evidence-based policy and evaluation.
The applicant will have demonstrated quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work effectively as a member of multidisciplinary teams, and a strong commitment to our core values of quality and integrity.
Your profileWe are looking for individuals to strengthen our science, technology and innovation and/or education and skills teams.
We expect candidates to have three or more years relevant work experience in a consulting environment or experience in government departments and their related agencies.
It is desirable for candidates to have a good up-to-date understanding of the STI and/or education and skills policy environments, within the UK and/or the EU.
More specifically, you must have:
An academic background in a relevant field at master's level or above (e.g., public policy, economics, social sciences, or science and technology studies)Proven experience in consultancy, research or policy analysis, ideally within science, innovation, education or public sector strategyKnowledge of policy/programme evaluation methods, for example, the UK Government guidelines for designing evaluations ("the Magenta Book")Strong analytical skills with experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodsHighly computer literate (e.g. MS Office, statistics analysis software)Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presenting complex information to non-specialist audiencesEnthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with strict deadlines, and contributing to a culture of innovation and learningClient-facing experience, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholdersA willingness to travel and work within multidisciplinary, international teamsThe position would be full time with the potential for some level of flexible working. This will be a permanent position, following the successful completion of a 6-month probationary period.
