You will work in a variety of clinical settings within Buckinghamshire with the aim of delivering excellent care to high need patients in order to maintain their mobility and independence. You must have good general clinical and diagnostic skills as you will be working on your own initiative as well as part of the team. For those new to the NHS, the Trust offers a multi-disciplinary preceptorship scheme.
The post holder is required to have clear communication and interpersonal skills as well as enthusiasm for contributing to this service, which benefits from being part of this Integrated Trust.
Our podiatry service has placement rotations for staff within its own specialist teams, such as Rheumatology, MSK and Diabetes / Wound clinics as well as regular sessions on the nail surgery rota. We meet for monthly staff meetings and clinical reasoning sessions. There will be a small home visiting caseload.
Main duties of the jobTo assess, diagnose, plan and evaluate podiatric care to a variety of patient groups with specialised care needs.To maintain high quality clinical skills and ensure own continuing professional development in line with national and local guidelines.To deliver evidence-based podiatry interventions that will contribute to the maintenance of patient mobility and independence.To adhere to Departmental, Trust and HPC policies, strategies and objectives.To undertake specialist podiatric treatments such as wound management/tissue viability, nail surgery and ulcer care within a supervised programme of care.To interpret and analyse clinical and nonclinical facts to form an accurate diagnosis and prognosis.About usWorking for your organisation
