We are seeking an experienced PMO Project Manager (Band 8A) to join the Hinchingbrooke Hospital Redevelopment Programme (HHRP).
This role is pivotal in delivering a once-in-a-generation transformation of healthcare services, including a state-of-the-art digital hospital aligned with the NHS New Hospital Programme.

Main duties of the job Manage HHRP project lifecycles, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery and business continuity.
Ensure programme integrity and adherence to policies with the Head of PMO.
Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and implement change management strategies for processes, technology, and structures.
Plan and coordinate activities, managing interdependencies and resources across projects.
Use data to monitor progress, identify improvements, and focus on high-impact areas.
Identify and resolve risks and issues, maintaining project viability and timelines.
Provide progress updates to stakeholders through clear, concise reporting.
Review and assure the quality of project documentation and financial plans.
Guide project leads and teams to support growth and align with organisational values.
Apply best practices and benchmarking to enhance programme planning and outcomes.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Educated to degree level and evidence of masters qualification or equivalent experience Evidence of significant continuing professional development Desirable Further specialist training relevant to the role eg change management or project management qualification Better business case practitioner accreditation Experience Essential Significant experience in managing major estates/strategic transformational change programmes and projects within the NHS or a comparable large organisation preferably in a service related environment Experience of training and facilitating group development and delivering training education and development opportunities Experience of leading and motivating teams to deliver to a high standard whilst under pressure and when facing changing circumstances Experience of providing specialist service change and modernisation advice to a range of professionals and in various environments Experience of working across organisational boundaries and multiple services Experience of developing, monitoring, and managing budgets Experience of report writing Experience of managing internal and external stakeholder engagement, including managing relationships and coordinating work between cross-functional teams and third parties Experience of influencing staff at all levels to ensure project objectives are owned by all members of the teams including users and stakeholders Proven collaborative relationship engagement skills with both internal and external stakeholders at a senior level, including managing relationships and encouraging collaborative working between cross-functional teams, and with third parties.
Experience supporting teams through a process of change, sensitively managing complex issues and managing where performance has not been met, including where that is unwelcome news Evidence of successful delivery of financial and/or quality benefits within agreed timescales Experience of analysing areas of highly complex and multifaceted activity in relation to current performance to drive opportunities for future improvement Skills Essential Demonstrate effective analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to analyse complex facts and situations and develop a range of options, coupled with the ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands.
Proven ability to deliver sustainable transformational change rather than just undertaking incremental change Able to empathise and build rapport with clinicians, front-line staff, managers and others, to influence, motivate and engage them into adopting new ways of working to improve service delivery Demonstrates authoritative and democratic leadership encompassing energy and involvement in planning and managing change.
Able to receive, process, summarise, interpret and communicate highly complex, sensitive and contentious information where there are barriers to acceptance and resistance to change Strength of character to constructively challenge project leads and project managers where areas are not delivering against key milestones and project deadlines Effective and adaptable interpersonal and influencing strategies including the ability to persuade others with personal conviction and facts Communicate effectively to a range of groups and individuals in both verbal and written form.
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with ability to manage varying levels of understanding Accurate and advanced IT/keyboard skills including producing high level reports and presentations, with significant VDU use Ability to identify and manage risks Experience using and managing enterprise project portfolio management software (such as Primavera P6 or PM3) Expertise in developing, managing programme plans using MS project software.
This should include tracking progress against the critical path Ability to create a clear project plan and prioritise workloads and resource them in response to changing demands and requirements Desirable Knowledge and clear understanding of the background to, and aims of current healthcare policy in the NHS, with experience of interpreting and applying national guidance across the local health economy
