Plc Engineer

Working on behalf of our client based on a site in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
We are currently recruiting for a PLC Engineer for a contract position.
Key Duties: - Design, develop, and program PLC control systems for water treatment, distribution, and wastewater systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve PLC and SCADA system issues.
- Commission and test new PLC installations, ensuring they meet industry and client specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Provide technical support and training to site operators and maintenance teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety and industry standards, including health and safety regulations.
- Participate in site surveys, client meetings, and project reviews to ensure successful project delivery.
What we are looking for in the successful candidate: - Proven experience working as a PLC Engineer in the water industry (water treatment, wastewater, or distribution systems).
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Schneider experience essential) - Experience with SCADA systems and HMI programming.
- Understanding of water industry processes, control systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
- A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
- Familiarity with instrumentation and telemetry systems in the water industry.
- Knowledge of networking and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet).
- Experience in system integration and control panel design.
