Job Summary: We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Level 2 Play Worker.
Reporting to the Setting Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the club, providing quality play care within the framework of the club's policies and procedures.
It is essential that the candidate has knowledge of the EYFS Framework and safeguarding child protection.
Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
Greet children from school and ensure their safe delivery to parents/carers at the end of the day.
Provide refreshments and maintain hygiene, health, and safety standards.
Administer first aid when necessary.
Consult with children and involve them in activity planning.
Provide support and supervision to play workers, school escorts, and volunteers.
Handle administration and record-keeping tasks, including financial records and ordering/purchasing.
Encourage parental involvement in the club.
Maintain communication with all stakeholders, including parents, schools, and childcare organizations.
Undertake relevant training and maintain a healthy, safe, and secure working environment.
Additional Information: Rate of pay per hour dependent on age, qualifications, and experience.
Term-time only.
Desirable Qualities: Experience working with children aged 4 to 11.
Administrative experience.
Ability to deliver equal opportunities in a play setting.
Awareness of the needs of children and families.
Appropriate Level 2 qualification.
Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
Appropriate child protection training.
Food Hygiene Certificate.
Ability to provide and facilitate safe and creative play.
Teamwork and leadership skills.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently with judgment and common sense.
Good knowledge of the EYFS Framework and safeguarding child.
Enhanced DBS check.
At least 2 years of experience working in a childcare setting.
Experience working within a play-based setting.
Ability to use IT-based resources to support play and club administration.
Current driving license.
