We're seeking a passionate Platform Engineer to join our dynamic Platform team—a unique opportunity to make a real impact at the forefront of financial technology.
As the Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting product teams in creating stable, secure, and scalable platforms for their software to run on.
Your commitment to continuous improvement will contribute to the broader strategy of advancing the bank's technical platforms.
Allica's Platform team adheres strictly to best-in-class methodologies such as Infrastructure as Code, utilising Terraform and Azure DevOps to implement declarative infrastructure.
This role mandates the use of these technologies to deploy and maintain cloud-native systems, ensuring the use of the latest advancements in cloud platform management.
Expertise in Azure is essential, and familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) would be beneficial.
The Platform Engineer role is highly focused on service delivery and will involve liaising with multiple teams across the bank to help deliver optimal solutions.
Principal Accountabilities Cloud Infrastructure Development: Design, build, and maintain stable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure on Azure and GCP.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage cloud resources using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration.
CI/CD Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to streamline application deployment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, security experts, and system administrators to integrate cloud solutions effectively.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise for efficiency and reliability.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of infrastructure configurations and processes.
Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for cloud infrastructure, addressing technical issues promptly.
Personal Attributes & Experience Experience in Azure (PaaS, IaaS, Networking knowledge beneficial) Experience with Azure DevOps - YAML CI/CD pipelines / Templating Strong scripting experience for Infrastructure-as-Code – Terraform / Ansible Scripting abilities in Bash/PowerShell Strong analytical skills Strong Communication and problem-solving skills A solid understanding of Linux based systems is beneficial Thirst to learn new technologies and skills, be passionate about tech.
