Plant Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established company in the construction industry, for a skilled and experienced Plant Manager.
This role is crucial for managing the company's fleet and heavy equipment, ensuring all assets are maintained to high standards and fully compliant.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in plant management, asset tracking, and operational efficiency to support our client's projects and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities for a Plant Manager Oversee and maintain the plant asset register Track depreciation, disposal dates, and provide insights on replacement needs for plant and fleet.
Manage monthly tracking of income and expenditure related to plant assets, and coordinate finance approvals.
Ensure all daily checklists for vehicles and heavy equipment are completed and accurately filed.
Administer fuel cards, including monthly reconciliations and tracking out-of-hours mileage with cost charge-backs.
Schedule services, MOTs, and tax renewals for vehicles and equipment, and ensure compliance with all maintenance and inspection requirements.
Track operating hours and schedule regular servicing and LOLER certifications for excavators and other heavy machinery.
Maintain up-to-date records of serial numbers, codes, and service plans for all plant equipment.
File daily inspection sheets and ensure all equipment documentation is complete and up-to-date.
Maintain documentation for plant and equipment movements, ensuring accurate records of all transactions.
Coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules for breakdowns to minimise equipment downtime.
Maximise plant utilisation by working closely with project teams to optimise equipment availability.
Key skills for a Plant Manager Proven experience in plant or fleet management, preferably within construction, engineering, or a similar industry.
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in record-keeping systems and a solid understanding of compliance requirements.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
