Role Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Planning Director to join our growing development team. This role is integral to the successful planning and delivery of renewable energy projects, including ground-mounted solar installations, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and wind energy. As a Planning Director you will work closely with senior development managers and planners to secure the necessary permissions and approvals to support the construction of these projects.

You will assist with planning applications, site assessments, stakeholder engagement, and navigating the complexities of planning policy to enable project delivery.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in preparing and submitting planning applications for renewable energy projects, including solar, BESS, and wind energy.Conduct site assessments to evaluate the suitability of locations for development, including environmental, technical, and community considerations.Support the coordination of planning reports, environmental impact assessments, and other documentation required for planning submissions.Liaise with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure that all necessary permissions and approvals are obtained for development projects.Monitor and interpret relevant planning policies, regulations, and legislation to ensure compliance in the development process.Contribute to the management of the planning and consent process for multiple projects within the development pipeline.Assist in the preparation and delivery of planning strategies, ensuring that projects meet both internal and external requirements.Work closely with internal teams such as legal, environmental, and technical departments to support all aspects of project development.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local planning and development policies, as well as emerging trends in the renewable energy sector.Skills & Experience: Degree or equivalent qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.Previous experience in town planning or development within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors is preferred.A strong understanding of the planning process, including the preparation of planning applications and associated documentation.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with stakeholders and regulatory authorities.Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines effectively.Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Knowledge of environmental policies, regulations, and the wider renewable energy industry is advantageous.Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.Why Join: Be part of a team that is actively contributing to the global transition to renewable energy.Opportunity to work on high-profile projects with significant impact on energy sustainability.A collaborative, supportive work environment focused on innovation and growth.Competitive salary and benefits package.If you are passionate about renewable energy and have a solid foundation in town planning, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
