Overview of role We are seeking a Planning Consultant who is an expert in Planning and aligning fields. This role requires a high degree of expertise and experience. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Planning, Senior Associate Planning Managers, Specialist Advisory Portfolio Leads, and Account Leads to establish and achieve the Unit's strategic goals while continuously enhancing our service and solution offering.
What You Will Contribute to the Team Work with internal and external stakeholders to clearly define all project elements. Help clarify key milestones to outline what, when, and how activities will be organized to achieve desired outcomes. Manage all aspects of project planning, including creating, updating, and monitoring plans and schedules. Identify tasks, activities, interdependencies, and deliverables. Collaborate with the project team to track and monitor progress against the plan throughout the project lifecycle. Set a clear vision and standards, promoting best practice project planning standards, tools, and processes. Use advanced planning knowledge to analyse and resolve risks and issues, and identify opportunities. Provide guidance and expert advice to the Project Manager on planning approaches, tools, processes, and proportionality. Lead the adoption of industry-standard best practices. Demonstrated ability to professionally develop, encourage, support, and lead a functional team while overseeing multiple projects and operational business workstreams concurrently. Experience working in multiple project, programme, portfolio, and organisational environments. Proven experience working within project controls teams on significant construction projects in highly regulated industries. Experience in planning and coordinating functional resources for operational purposes. Demonstrable experience and practical knowledge in NEC and JCT forms of contract. Knowledge and application of contemporary industry innovations, including data, digital, and emergent artificial intelligence initiatives. Proficiency in commonly used planning software, such as Primavera P6. Please be advised that offers for this role may be conditional upon obtaining the appropriate level of Security Clearance.
Minimum Requirements NEC accreditation. Chartered status with a relevant recognized professional body, such as ChPP, MCIOB, MRICS. Experience in leading and supporting effective business development activities. Degree or equivalent. Membership of the APM, CIOB or RICS, or actively working towards membership. Project management expertise, from the early stages of the project lifecycle, through to procurement and delivery. Experience of working for / with Client organisations would be an advantage. Experience in administering contracts, Strong client and stakeholder relationship building skills. Effective communication, with clients, project team and business manager. High degree of commercial acumen and knowledge of planning and project controls. Ability to create an enjoyable and fulfilling work environment.
