Planning And Project Controls Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Planning and Project Controls Engineer to join our team at HS2.
This role is integral to our business, fulfilling key operational and commercial functions.
You will be responsible for producing and maintaining the Accepted Programme for our projects, ensuring all planning processes required by NEC contracts are undertaken.
Key Responsibilities: - Programme Management: Produce and maintain the Accepted Programme, ensuring alignment with the overall project plan.
- Short-Term Planning: Provide rolling 3-week-look-ahead plans for operations staff, derived from the main programme.
- Data Consistency: Maintain key date information and ensure consistency across all planning and controls data sets.
- Reporting: Develop and maintain weekly progress reports, EOT assessments, and resource-loaded forecasts for cash-flow and expenditure.
- Performance Monitoring: Lead targeted performance monitoring to improve site productivity and provide time-related reporting for board-level review.
- Compliance: Ensure submissions of programme information are timely and accurate, including Cl32, CE assessments, and monthly updates.
Knowledge, Skills, and Key Competencies: Essential: - Strong planning fundamentals - Engineering/site experience as an engineer/site agent or similar.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Eagerness to learn and experiment with new tools/processes.
- Strong Earned Value fundamentals, ideally accredited with APM.
- Technical skills with project management software (P6 and Asta).
- Demonstrated experience in NEC planning roles.
Desirable: - Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Proficiency in P6 and/or Asta.
- Experience with Power BI dashboard production and maintenance.
- Knowledge of last planner systems/lean construction methods.
