Job Title: Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support

Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with learning and language difficulties in a primary school setting.
This role will focus on helping the child access the curriculum, while also providing general classroom support as needed.
Key Responsibilities: Provide focused 1:1 support to a child with learning and language difficulties, helping them to understand and engage with lessons.
Assist the child with language development and communication, using tailored strategies to support their progress.
Work closely with the class teacher to implement individualized learning plans and ensure the child's specific needs are met.
Support the child in developing their social and interaction skills, creating a positive and inclusive classroom experience.
When not working 1:1, provide general classroom assistance, helping to manage classroom activities and support other students as needed.
Collaborate with the SENCO and other educational professionals to monitor the child's progress and adjust support strategies where necessary.
Assist with classroom planning and preparation, ensuring that resources and learning materials are accessible and inclusive.
Essential Skills and Experience: Experience working with children with learning and language difficulties, ideally in a school setting.
Knowledge of strategies to support children with communication challenges, including the use of visual aids or alternative communication methods.
Patience, empathy, and a calm approach to supporting children with additional learning needs.
Ability to work closely with the class teacher and other staff to deliver individualized learning programmes.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with children, colleagues, and parents.
Flexibility to provide general classroom support when required.
A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required for this role, or a willingness to obtain one.
