Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD)
Hours: 08:30 to 15:30
We are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children with high needs ADHD in Worthing.
The successful candidate will have experience working with children or young adults with ADHD, gained through paid employment, personal experience, or volunteering.
This role requires an understanding of how to manage challenging behaviours and to engage individuals who may struggle to focus and follow routines.
You will need to be adaptable and creative in using the child's interests to enhance their learning experience.
Key Responsibilities: Provide focused support to students with ADHD, both in individual and small group settings.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate each child's learning style and needs.
Help develop routines that promote concentration and effective learning.
Collaborate with educators to design strategies tailored to each pupil.
Monitor student behaviour and progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation.
Essential Experience/Attributes: Previous experience working with children that have special educational needs.
Experience with ADHD and the associated challenges of focus and routine.
A DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
Clear communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
The ability to be adaptable, remain calm in challenging situations, and respond to the needs of the pupils.
Must be able to understand and follow the school's safeguarding procedures and behavioural policies.
Qualifications relating to education, special educational needs, counselling, or psychology are not essential but will be looked upon favourably.
