Location: Worthing Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Hours: Part-time, Thursdays and Fridays We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Reception class at a school in Worthing.
This part-time role, working Thursdays and Fridays, focuses on supporting children with additional needs across a range of requirements.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with children with SEN and be confident in adapting approaches to meet the individual needs of pupils.

Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and group support to children in Reception with additional needs.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt lessons and activities to suit the needs of pupils with SEN. Support children in developing social, emotional, and academic skills, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.
Use a range of strategies and interventions to encourage learning and regulate behaviour.
Monitor and document the progress of pupils, providing feedback to teachers and parents where appropriate.
Create a nurturing and inclusive environment where children feel confident and supported.
Essential Experience/Attributes: Proven experience working with children with additional needs, particularly in early years or primary settings.
Strong understanding of a range of SEN, including strategies to support Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and SEMH needs.
Ability to adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil requirements.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teachers and staff.
Patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting young learners.
A DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs are desirable but not essential.
