Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Hours: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support children in a mixed Reception and Year 1 class.
This role focuses on providing 1:1 assistance to pupils with autism and other SEN needs, helping them build confidence and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities: Work 1:1 with pupils with SEN, including autism, supporting them in their learning and development.
Tailor lessons and activities to suit the specific needs of each child.
Establish consistent routines to provide a secure and predictable learning environment.
Support pupils in managing their behaviour and encourage positive interactions.
Collaborate with the class teacher and school staff to provide cohesive support.
Help foster independence and a sense of achievement in pupils.
Essential Experience/Attributes: Previous experience working with children that have special educational needs.
Experience working with children with autism and other SEN needs.
A DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
Clear communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
The ability to remain calm in challenging situations and respond to the needs of the pupils.
Must be able to understand and follow the school's safeguarding procedures and behavioural policies.
Qualifications relating to education, special educational needs, counselling, or psychology are not essential but will be looked upon favourably.
