We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join a special needs school in Chichester, supporting children and young people aged 2-19 with a range of needs.
This is a highly rewarding role in a school that uses positive reinforcement, distraction, and humour to manage and support challenging behaviour effectively.
Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to pupils with varying needs, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.
Assist with classroom activities, adapting resources to meet the unique needs of each child.
Support students with challenging behaviour by employing the school's methods of positive reinforcement, distraction, and humour.
Collaborate with a close-knit team to create a nurturing and safe environment.
Build trusting and positive relationships with pupils, helping them grow in confidence and independence.
Contribute to a fun and engaging learning atmosphere, meeting the diverse needs of children and young people.
What We're Looking For: Someone with experience or a personal understanding of SEND , including managing challenging behaviour.
